Connect Tech Inc. is looking for an energetic and motivated Administrative Assistant. This new position has been created to meet the growing demand for our standard products as well as our custom design services. You’ll work alongside a diverse and talented group in sales and admin, hardware and software developers, and technical support to continue Connect Tech’s drive within the embedded industry.

The Skills We Need:

The Administrative Assistant will be working as part of Connect Tech’s administrative team processing orders, completing shipping documentation, customer invoicing as well as supporting the Accounting Department. The Administrative Assistant will work in a modern and stylish open office environment with exposure to Connect Tech’s reception area.

Here are the skills our Administrators need to have to be successful:

  • Proven capability of learning new systems quickly, taking initiative to be productive and self-motivated
  • Ability to accurately decipher part numbers of a similar sequence or number range and process data accurately
  • Strong commitment to excellence in customer service
  • Provide professional and courteous communication to customers and colleagues
  • Monitor and manage workload within appropriate timelines ensuring tasks are processed efficiently and through to completion
  • Actively communicate with customers while monitoring customer accounts for timely payment and follow up on any overdue items
  • Effectively liaise with internal departments including Sales, Accounting, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Marketing, Engineering, and Technical Support

Education and technical experience we’re looking for:

  • 2+ years’ experience in general office administration and/or experience in a customer service role through an order desk or reception position
  • Professional and courteous demeanour with the willingness to assist both internal and external customers
  • Strong data entry skills, with keyboarding proficiency and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Willingness to support Accounting Assistant and Customer Service Rep with tasks daily, during vacation and unscheduled absences

Additional Knowledge that we would give preference to:

  • Exposure to Inside Sales from a Customer Service role
  • Knowledge of shipping documentation, commercial invoices, FedEx and UPS online shipping platforms
  • Adaptable to change and capable to take on new tasks as required
  • Competent at managing multiple tasks simultaneously and seeing each through to timely completion
  • General knowledge of Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable
  • Exposure to purchasing activities
