This document is a supplement to the Intellicon manual ver2.26. The newer revisions of Intellicon Flex8 have undergone four major changes.

1) The drop down portion of the Intellicon Flex8 card behind the ISA bus connector has been removed. The new PCB (Printed Circuit Board) shape is now more consistent with other ISA PCB’s. This should allow the Intellicon Flex8 to be compatible with a wider range of PC Mother Boards.

2) The PCB Layout has been optimized to include a ground plane. This should provide greater reliability and stability in noisy environments.

3) We have added three diagnostic LED’s (Light Emitting Diodes) on the the board. They are L1 to L3. There purpose is as follows.

L1 – Red – Z80 halt signal, ON is Z80 halted, due to fatal error.
L2 – Yellow – ON during an interrupt to the Z80 (NMI).
L3 – Yellow – ON during an interrupt to the ISA bus.

4) Pull up resistors were added to the UART inputs RxD, CTS and DCD. These resistors bias the UART inputs to an inactive condition. With previous Flex8 revisions noise on the UART inputs can hinder the performance of the board, when one or more SLIMS is not installed.

None of these changes should effect the overall performance or reliability of the board. The changes are meant as enhancements and improvements. This revision is 100% compatible with all Intellicon Flex-8 versions of drivers, software, SLIMS and cabling. The Intellicon Rev B was never released due some other problems, the Rev C corrected this.
