Guelph ON, Canada – Connect Tech is pleased to announce its collaboration with TIER IV, a leader in open-source autonomous driving technology, to provide support for its cutting-edge C1 and C2 Automotive Cameras, and Sensor Fusion System.

TIER IV’s IP69K rated automotive sensors include onboard ISP and GMSL2 connectivity. The C2 camera is a high dynamic range (HDR) automotive camera with 5.4 MP Sony IMX490 sensor. Its lower power C1 camera offers 2.5MP resolution with the Sony ISX021. The GMSL2 interface of both products allows for long-distance signal transmission and power supply over a single cable connection. With a dynamic range of 120dB, these sensors capture scenes with a large difference in brightness without crushing shadows or overexposing highlights.

The introduction of the Sensor Fusion Development Kit, a groundbreaking reference hardware for autonomous driving, comes from TIER IV’s commitment to open source and reflects our vision ‘the art of open source, reimagine intelligent vehicles.’ We are delighted to collaborate with Connect Tech, integrating their computing platform with TIER IV’s advanced cameras. This empowers our customers with diverse hardware options, driving innovation in the mobility sector. – Shinpei Kato, CEO/CTO, TIER IV

Connect Tech supports both TIER IV’s C1 and C2 automotive cameras for its line of NVIDIA® Jetson AGX Orin™ off-the-shelf Systems and Carriers. TIER IV in turn supports ECU platforms such as the Jetson AGX Orin, and recently announced its Sensor Fusion System, compatible with Connect Tech’s Forge Carrier, Rogue Carrier, and Anvil Embedded System.

Connect Tech is committed to providing integrated vision support on our hardware platforms by establishing strong partnerships with the leaders in embedded vision. Combining production ready Connect Tech hardware with TIER IV’s line of automotive cameras will allow for applications to be deployed with out-of-the-box support and accelerated development for the next generation of autonomy. – Rob Callaghan, Chief Product Officer, Connect Tech

Connect Tech’s extensive Jetson expertise and focus on image sensor integration and support directly into its Jetson BSPs provides a seamless experience for the Jetson community. Connect Tech’s Jetson support also includes continuous board support packages updates based on the latest NVIDIA® JetPack™ and L4T releases including critical drivers for a vast number of image sensors and protocols such as MIPI CSI-2, GMSL, and FPD-Link as a robust BSP with integrated sensor support, all of which will significantly shorten time to market.
