kdb228: Windows 95 Blue Heat/PCI, DFlex driver looking for WEBDLT.EXE file

Title: Windows 95 Blue Heat/PCI, DFlex driver looking for WEBDLT.EXE file

Problem:

It is possible that Windows 95 may look a file called WEBDLT.EXE, of which was removed from version 1.00 of the Windows 95 Blue Heat/PCI driver archive, and will not be present on any newer releases of the driver.

Solution:

When installing an updated version of the driver (version 1.00 or newer), it is best to cancel the operation when prompted for the driver diskette during the Windows 95 boot sequence. Instead, go into Control Panel → System and perform an update driver under multi-function adapter.

Reason:

The reason for this is that if an older version of the Windows 95 Blue Heat/PCI, DFlex driver was installed (older than version 1.00), then certain oem???.inf files will contain references to the WEBDLT.EXE file. If the appropriate oem???.inf files are deleted from the windows and windows/inf directories, then you will not be prompted for the WEBDLT.EXE file.
