Problem:

A customer was not able to dial in on the modem connected to a Windows NT RAS port using a Connect Tech Blue Heat/PCI multiport serial adapter.

Solution:

The Blue Heat/PCI ports will only work under Windows NT RAS Server Dial-in if the echo option is turned off. With the echo option active, a problem will occur when the receiver echo’s the transmitters request for a connection. Under this condition a connection cannot be made.

If the customer is able to dial in on the standard com port and not the Blue Heat/PCI, ask them to turn off the echo option. The extra options can be found under MODEMS → PROPERTIES → CONNECTION → ADVANCED.

Trouble shooting this problem is made easier if the Make Log File box in the MODEMS → PROPERTIES → CONNECTION → ADVANCED area is checked.
