On the PCI-104 bus, each card within the stack must have a unique Id ranging from zero to three. On Connect Tech PCI/104 and PC/104-Plus cards, you will be required to set a rotary switch or pair of jumpers to specify where your card is located in the stack. (Ensure no two boards share an ID number)

The ID is dependent on the location of the card’s location in the system stack. The board should be at ID 0 if directly above the CPU, ID 1 if it is the second card, ID 2 if it is the third etc. This is more clearly outlined in the table below:
