About This KDB:

This KDB describes known issues with the BlueStorm/Express and Windows CE 5.0.

Issue 1:

When using the Intel Desktop Board D925XCV with a BlueStorm/Express in the second PCIe slot (labelled PCIe Slot 2 on the D925XCV), the PCI bus driver included with Windows CE 5.0 may not be able to enumerate the PCI UART devices behind the PLX PCIe-PCI bridge used on the BlueStorm/Express.

Solution 1-1:

The first solution is to move the BlueStorm/Express card to a different PCIe slot. If you still experience issues after moving the BlueStorm/Express, please contact Connect Tech Support.

Solution 1-2:

The second solution is to disable the PCI bus driver’s ability to configure the PCI bus. In order to disable the configuration stage of the PCI bus driver, make sure the registry value NoConfig is set equal to dword:1 under the PCI registry key. The PCI registry key is typically located at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\PCI. See also, PCI Bus Configuration and Enumeration in the Microsoft Platform Builder documentation.

Note: If using Solution 1-2, you must configure the PCI bus by some other means. For platforms based on CEPC this can usally be done by the BIOS. In the case of the D925XCV, set the BIOS option Plug & Play O/S to No.
