Tempo IGX gives robotics developers a production-ready platform supporting NVIDIA Halos for Robotics, built on NVIDIA IGX T5000 and shaped by Connect Tech’s early roadmap alignment and long-standing NVIDIA Elite Partner collaboration.

Connect Tech’s 40+ years experience designing embedded computing platforms is exactly what makes Tempo IGX worth talking about this week at Automate 2026.

Tempo IGX is positioned to support NVIDIA’s functional safety architecture, integrated with the NVIDIA IGX Thor T5000 system-on-module. It is our first dedicated IGX solution, and it was designed specifically to support safety-oriented, production-ready robotics deployments that NVIDIA Halos for robotics is now enabling.

David Pearson, SAE Lead and Connect Tech Talks host, explains how Connect Tech’s hardware solution and NVIDIA Halos for Robotics work together in this video.

Safety First: Tempo IGX

Connect Tech announced earlier this year at NVIDIA GTC: Tempo IGX. This Edge AI robotics solution includes the NVIDIA IGX T5000 system-on-module, which includes a Blackwell iGPU, a 14-core Arm Neoverse-V3AE CPU, and 128GB ECC LPDDR5X memory.

Tempo IGX is designed to support NVIDIA’s robotics and Edge AI software ecosystem, including NVIDIA Isaac, NVIDIA Holoscan, and NVIDIA Halos. For teams working on collaborative or humanoid robots, mobile robot platforms, or autonomous off-highway vehicles, it means there is already hardware available out of the gate with this kind of certification path in mind.

What Is NVIDIA Halos for Robotics?

NVIDIA Halos for Robotics is NVIDIA’s full-stack safety system for industrial robots, built on NVIDIA IGX Thor hardware and the Halos OS software stack, with an inspection path through the Halos AI Systems Inspection Lab, the first ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB)-accredited inspection lab designed specifically for physical AI and autonomous systems. It provides a unified framework to verify functional safety, cybersecurity, and AI compliance for autonomous vehicles (AVs), robotics, and sensor technologies. It is designed to help partners prepare Halos integrations for third-party certification by leading certification bodies.

“For Connect Tech customers, the relevance is straightforward: Tempo IGX is designed to support this exact framework.”

Why It Is Worth Paying Attention To: Time to Market & Expense

When building collaborative robots, mobile platforms, or humanoid systems, functional safety certification tends to come up as one of the slowest, most expensive parts of getting a product to market. A framework like Halos for Robotics gives those teams a more structured path and Connect Tech’s Tempo IGX is built to support it.

Robotics teams need a platform that supports today’s Edge AI workloads while keeping a clear path open for safety certification,” says Rob Callaghan, Chief Product Officer at Connect Tech. “As an NVIDIA Elite Partner, Connect Tech built Tempo to provide a production-ready NVIDIA IGX platform for developers building safety-oriented physical AI systems. With Tempo, customers can deploy now on NVIDIA IGX T5000 and work toward a functional safety certified configuration on the same hardware foundation as their systems mature.
