The Photon carrier board is a Jetson™ AI Camera Platform specifically designed to support smart camera applications. This carrier provides PoE PD Gigabit Ethernet uplink for data and power and has various I/O connectors positioned for easy packaging into off-the-shelf camera housings. Photon empowers fast deployment of vision-enabled AI applications requiring multiple camera streams within a compact footprint. Since Photon is compatible with the NIVIDA® Jetson™ Nano, TX2™ NX, Xavier™ NX, Orin™ Nano, and Orin™ NX modules, users can seamlessly transition between the four SoM options should their AI processing requirements change.
For applications that don’t require PoE PD ask for our lower cost Non-PoE PD options.
While Photon is compatible with NVIDIA Jetson Nano, TX2 NX, Xavier NX and Orin NX SoMs, some I/O availability will change across modules. View the Photon Compatibility Specifications for a full breakdown.
NOTE: Do not use the 19V power supply from the Jetson Xavier™ NX Dev Kit with the Photon.

Without PoE, customers will require a power source with a barrel jack for their carrier. With PoE, customers have the option of powering the carrier using a barrel jack or Power over Ethernet. This is ideal for installations that have restrictive or limited power source options.
Beyond PoE, Photon can also be purchased with integrated WiFi/Bluetooth, Cellular, and or NVMe. The below table outlines the modules installed for the requested features:
